FAQ

1. What are the hours of operation?

Legacy Early Learning Center operates Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. We are closed on major holidays, which are listed in our policy handbook.

2. What ages do you accept?

We accept children from 2 years up to 12 years old. Children aged 3 and older must be toilet-trained to enroll.

3. Are meals and snacks provided?

Yes, we follow USDA guidelines for meal and snack nutrition. Breakfast, lunch, and a snack are served daily. If your child has dietary restrictions, please let us know in writing.

4. How do you handle child attendance and tracking?

We use a digital and hard copy attendance system, and headcounts are taken regularly throughout the day to ensure each child's safety. Parents MUST sign their children in and out every day.

5. What happens if my child is sick?

Children who are ill should not attend daycare. If your child becomes ill during the day, we will contact you to pick them up within 1 hour. Children can return when they are symptom-free, have been treated, or have received medical approval.

6. Do you offer drop-in care?

Yes, drop-in care is available with prior approval and completed enrollment paperwork. However, availability is limited, so please contact us in advance to confirm.

7. How are behavior and discipline handled?

We focus on positive guidance, setting clear expectations, and redirecting children’s behavior when needed. "Time-outs" are used only if other methods are unsuccessful.

8. What is your policy on emergency situations?

We conduct monthly fire and tornado drills, and our staff is trained in emergency procedures, including evacuation, shelter-in-place, and lock-down protocols. Parents will be notified promptly through the Playground app or other means if an emergency arises.

9. Are there any transportation services?

We do not provide transportation to and from the center. Parents must arrange transportation for their children. Bussing is available from the elementary school in Roberts at certain time periods.

10. What should I bring for my child each day?

Please bring disposable diapers (if needed), cot sheets, a blanket, a labeled water bottle, sunscreen, insect repellent, and weather-appropriate clothing. A complete change of clothing, including socks and underwear, is also recommended.

11. How do I report my child’s absence?

If your child will be absent, please notify us within at least 30 minutes before their scheduled arrival. This helps us maintain accurate records and keep your child safe.

12. What if my child has allergies?

We take allergies very seriously. Please provide an allergy action plan, including specific instructions and any necessary medications. We ensure that staff are aware of each child’s allergies and follow any special precautions.

13. Can parents visit during the day?

Yes, parents are welcome to visit during operating hours unless restricted by a court order. Please inform us if there are any restrictions.

14. How do you handle medical emergencies?

Our staff is trained in first aid and CPR. In a serious emergency, we will contact emergency services (911) and notify parents immediately. Minor injuries are treated with basic first aid, and parents are informed at pick-up.

15. What forms are required for enrollment?

To enroll, we require a Child Care Enrollment Form, Health History, Emergency Care Plan, Immunization Record, and other standard forms. All forms must be submitted before your child’s first day. These forms are located in the Playground app and can be completed electronically.
